Yabba Dabba Doo! The Flintstones turns 50 years old on Thursday and there's a Google doodle in their honour. The show first aired Sept. 30, 1960. The series lasted six seasons. "Flintstones, meet the Flintstones, they're the modern stone-age family … from the, town of Bedrock, they're a page right out of history …"

Although that Flintstones movie sucked. Who thought of casting Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble?

I remember that I and a group of friends would gather to play cards, eat snacks, and watch the Flinstones on a big, good TV. Besides being funny, it completely challenged the whole scheduling philosphy on TV. You could even argue that it laid the groundwork for such (then) odditities as Monday night football.
