We dont like it. We (Australians and Kiwis who have to fly to leave the country ) now tend to fly to Europe via Singapore, Hong Kong or Canada instead. I understand rigorous security checks are necessary in this day and age but when they get to this stage and there is a friendlier less hassle option who wouldnt take it when one feels just as safe. Travelling via Changi is pleasant and no more expensive than travelling via LA

You may be forgetting, or ignoring, something Benjamin Franklin said... "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." And what is the opposite of "LIBERTY?" The answer is: SLAVERY.

Now would you rather have freedom, and btw, in the context Franklin was using, the opposite of safety would be PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Now would you really prefer being a safe slave over being a personally responsible free person? Do you really consider yourself a patriotic American with your point of view. Last, Flying is not a right, not a privilage, it is a service that one must pay for to access, and isn't the customer always right? Should you be able to feel safe on a plane, yes, but should you have that feeling at the expense of others? NO. Do I have a problem with trying to keep terrorists off a plane, no, but do I have a right to ask that others give up their liberty for my comfort, NO. And neither do you.
